Let's Have an Arm Party with Alex and Ani

 

 Bangles upon watches upon beads upon woven friendship bracelets upon more bangles. The arm party trend has been going on for some time now and no matter how you rock it, it is still the most fun your wrists have ever had. I’ve seen girls with multi-colored bracelets stacked half-way up there arm while either girls keep it dainty and lady like with delicate tennis bracelets. Me? I’m a sucker for gold bangles. 

I recently learned about this company from some friends in Boston called Alex and Ani. They specialize in the coolest little bracelets you will ever have the pleasure of slipping on. They don’t have clasps or anything but have a sliding mechanism that allows it to become totally adjustable to your wrist. You can choose from countless different charms that you want to have on your bracelet and then…you stack ‘em up.

 I love the look of the bangles on your wrist with the charms hanging off of them. So unique, chic, and little bit hippie. All things I love in this world.

Dear Jennifer Lawrence, I love you...and The Oscars

The Superbowl of Fashion. Hollywood's Glitziest Night. The Oscars. This is by far one of my favorite days of the year. My sister and I are the biggest movie nerds on the face of the planet and make sure we see every nominated movie and sit about an inch away from the TV during the entire award show. But, we all know that Oscar night isn't just about who gets to take home the shiny gold statues. It's about who wore what and how they looked walking down the red carpet.

The dresses as usaul were GORGEOUS. Jessica Chastain, Zoe Saldana, Charlize Theron, and Reese Whitherspoon were among my favorites. Poor Anne and her...ahem...dress I didn't love so much.

But my favorite of the night was of course the girl of the hour, Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture. The dress itself was unbelievable but what I instantly became obsesses with was, you guessed it, the jewels.

That long draping Chopard back necklace was so unique and elegant. It was so unexpected that I literally found myself paying more attention to it that to her billowing gown. Even when she fell.  Do I spy a trend? Because Miss Hathaway was rocking a floral Tiffany back necklace as well. My verdict. LOVE. Cannot wait to see where this trend will go and try it out when the warm weather comes with a maxi dress.

Longchamp Love

Since I have been singing the praises of The Cambridge Satchel Co., I thought it was only appropriate to talk about the other bag in my life: my Longchamp. While living in London it didn’t take me long before I found myself exploring the beautiful city of Paris (only 2 hours away by train! Yes, please.) While exploring…and shopping…my way around the city I came across the huge department store Galleries Lafayette. Inside they had a Longchamp (pronounced Long-shom) pop up store and since I had been wanting one of these bags for a while and since the company was based out of Paris, I figured it was fate. So, I bought one.

For those of you who know of Longchamp bags you know that they really aren’t anything special to look at.  They are just your basic nylon bags with Russian leather straps. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t use mine every single day for a book bag, work bag, gym bag, and at times I have even used it as a grocery bag. The nylon is resilient enough to hold up against everyday activities and while the shape of the bag itself is so basic that it can literally carry almost anything inside. Can you say versatile? The dimensions of the large tote are 12 1/4x12x7 1/2 in. I am usually one who buys for the aesthetic of the bag but, this time functionality definitely won out. This season's colors are super fun too. They of course are offering their basic navy, black, and taupe bags like usual but have definitely stepped up their color game with vibrant hues such as turquoise, paprika, and yellow. If you are looking for a good quality, carryall bag that will last you forever look no further than a Lonchamp.

The Cambridge Satchel, a rainbow of bags.

I recently got back from living in London for a few months. It was such an eye opening experience not only cultural wise but fashion wise as well. The Brits have such a posh/quirky way of dressing that everyday I walked out my door it was  quite a learning experience. The way they put together outfits had such a creative process behind it and yet it looked as if they had just rolled out of bed looking like that. They mixed patterns, added spikes to everything, accessorized the heck out of every outfit, and everyone seemed to be carrying the same bag. The Cambridge Satchel.

                   You may have seen its imitators at Target or H&M but the real deal comes in a rainbow of colors and styles. You best believe I saw the Brits (and other fashionable Europeans for that matter) rocking every color on the daily. Their newest collection is called the “Chelsea” collection, most likely after the posh London neighborhood where you would find these lovely satchels. The palette of this collection is all pastels perfect for the warm spring and summer months. The old standbys include the classic collection, metallic: purple, cobalt, pink, and rose gold to name a few, jewel tones: emerald and sapphire, and the ever popular The Fluoro. Caution: please wear sunglasses when using this bag. These bags are the brightest fluorescent pink, yellow, green and orange bags you could ever want. And totally fantastic. There is no doubt you would stand out, from about 5 miles away.

People everywhere love them.

I was originally planning on buying one of these versatile bags while I was still in London, however my bank account decided to laugh in my face and say "not a chance sweet thing". So, I am currently saving up yo buy one. The 11" classic yellow one that I am looking at is retailing for about $156. Oh, and did I mention they are handmade especially for you when your order comes in? Your bag hasn't been sitting a storage room for weeks until you hit the "order" button on their website. Nope, your bag is made specifically for you and no one else. Jolly good, I say!

My love for Loft grows and grows

Loft strikes again! After falling head over heels in love with those gorgeous blue chandelier earrings I had to go home and snoop around their website. It was a treasure trove of amazingness. Seriously, go check it out.

            I’ve already professed my love of earrings so of course I headed there first and I came across these gorgeous pink, white, blue, and yellow pastel little guys. It’s like candy for your ears. I would definitely wear these during the day as opposed to the night just because they’re so bright and girly. So, perfect for spring (it’s coming I promise!) These are a little cheaper than the first pair and sell for about $30. But, don’t forget about the Spring Event sale coming up! 

            The pretty fest doesn't stop there either. Oh no, they also have these amazing statement necklaces. I remember seeing these in the store right before I left and thought "those are pretty" but I didn't really get to examine them like they deserved. These are colored stone necklaces that make a fun flower out of the stones and rhinestones. When I said it was a statement necklace, I wasn't kidding around. I love jewelry as much as the next girl but when wearing a necklace like this, less is really more. You want to look chic and stylish, not like you just raided a dress-up bin. I would wear these necklaces with a basic blouse, legging, and flats during the week or to work and with a maxi dress in the summer. Wedding season is coming up and these would be the perfect show stopping accessories. The lovely blue necklace is $80 and the fun yellow is $70.
