The It Girls of the 2013 Golden Globes

Well ladies and gents, Award Season 2013 is officially here! The 70th annual Golden Globes aired last night and even though it was a chilly 50 degrees outside nominees and their dates still managed to sizzle on the red carpet. The fashion world met Hollywood once again at the corner of glitz and glamour, providing quite a feast for the eyes for all of the style-obsessed viewers. As predicted trends such as black and white, sheer, ruffles, cutouts, and bursts of color all made an appearance on the A-list stars. The awards for “Best Actress in a Designer Gown” are…

Best White: Hayden Panettiere
Nominated for her show Nashville Hayden showed up looking every bit like a California glamour girl in a white Roberto Cavalli dress. She kept her hair and makeup natural giving the whole look a very effortless effect. The pop of color from her bubblegum pink clutch added some fun and kept the look young and playful.

Best Cutout: Emily Blunt
Emily arrived at the Globes looking stunning in a metallic gold cutout dress by Michael Kors.  The body conscious, complete with lace overlay, fit her like a glove and allowed her to show off her petite figure. She wore her hair up in a high, chic bun and complimented the whole look with a Ferragamo bag and gorgeous red and pink Lorraine Schwartz earrings and bracelet.

Best Pop of Color: Nicole Richie
Nicole stood out amid the sea of black and white last night in this sky blue Naeem Khan dress. Staying true to her bohemian roots she paired the long sleeve dress with a black fringe bag by her own label House of Harlow 1960. She wore her hair down and went for another huge trend for this spring, blue eye shadow.

Best New Mom: Claire Danes
Can you believe Claire had a baby less than a month ago? And with a win last night for her role in Homeland it’s safe to say that little guy is quite a good luck charm.  The glowing new mama turned heads in a custom made red dress by Versace. She too kept her hair down with an effortless feel but played up the smoky eye to round out the overall look.

Best Risk Taker: Kate Hudson
If Kate was planning on making a statement on the red carpet she succeeded when she picked this black and gold Alexander McQueen gown. The elaborate gold collar and belt detail perfectly compliment the keyhole detail to create a sexy-chic look. She softened the look with having natural relaxed hair (HUGE trend last night!) and very natural makeup. MY personal favorite!!

Honorable Mentions:
Anne Hathaway in Chanel

Kerry Washington in Miu Miu

Jessica Alba in Oscar de la Renta...oh and $5.8 million Harry Winston Diamonds.
